MCP server quick start

Let Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP clients check, lock and release resources for you.

The Lockit MCP server lets an AI assistant answer "is staging-db free?" or "lock qa-env for 3 hours for me" using your Lockit workspace.

What you need

  • An API key. A read key only gets the read tools; use a write key to lock and release.
  • An MCP client that lets you set custom headers, such as Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code.

Claude Code

  --header "Authorization: Bearer $LOCKIT_API_KEY" \
  --header "X-Lockit-User: you@company.com"

For Cursor, VS Code and the full list of tools, see the MCP section of the API reference.

Claude.ai and Claude Desktop custom connectors don't work yet. They need OAuth, which the Lockit MCP server doesn't offer. Use Claude Code or another client that supports custom headers.
